Lysozyme (LZM) Assay Kit

Lysozyme, also known as muramidase or N-acetylmuramide glycanohydrolase, is an alkaline enzyme that hydrolyzes mucopolysaccharides in pathogenic bacteria. It primarily breaks the β-1,4 glycosidic bonds between N-acetylmuramic acid and N-acetylglucosamine in bacterial cell walls. This decomposes the insoluble mucopolysaccharides of cell walls into soluble glycopeptides, causing cell wall rupture and leakage of intracellular contents, which ultimately leads to bacterial lysis.
