Acetylcholinesterase hydrolyzes acetylcholine to produce choline and acetic acid. Choline reacts with sulfhydryl chromogenic reagent to form yellow Sym-Trinitrobenzene (TNB). Colorimetric quantification is performed according to color intensity, and the content of hydrolyzed choline reflects the activity of cholinesterase.
